![]() ![]() Now you can sprinkle potpourri everywhere, light some candles, have a seance and throw down whatever FOV your star sign dictates for you to align your chakras and feel at peace with the world but that wont be to scale anymore. That is what you would see if your monitor was a window placed at the point of view from the drivers eyes in the car in our virtual world. So bollocks to the hippie ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who feel the need to clog every FOV thread with in order to give you permission to "Go wiTh wHaT fEels nIcE ^_^"Ĩ foot from a 44 inch screen would be 26°. Secondly there is one and only one mathematically correct field of view for any given distance from a monitor. Google "Dolly Zoom" for an easily relatable example of the concept you'll have seen used in films and TV before. This might make it easier or harder to see mirrors in VR or with headtracking for example. Now if you move the seat position forward initially it would appear similar to lowering the FOV ('Zooming' in) but if we were to look to our left and right we would now see that our head (POV) has moved forward and the FOV hasn't changed. If you were to lower the FOV and turn your head left & right, the position of your head will not have moved forward, despite how "zoomed" in the image may appear to be as a result of the FOV change your POV hasn't changed. Oh man that's a can of worms right there.įirstly, FOV changes the Field of View, changing the seat position changes the Point of View. ![]() Originally posted by Rich Mahogany:Also, in the view settings whats the diff between FOV and just zooming in? Thanks.
